From CTB Winnipeg comes this news article about a Canadian initiative aimed at educating teens about the dangers of sexting.
The Canadian Centre for Child Protection has launched a website called textED.ca as part of a pilot project where 100 Canadian schools will use the site to teach students about safe and responsible texting and when to seek intervention from an adult.
An excellent program aimed at teens, the website is interactive and engaging. There is obviously a need to bring this message to teens every where.
What bothers me every time news article reports on the dangers of texting, facebook and web 2.0 tools they fail to report on the ways teachers are using cell phones in the classroom. This post about Liz Kolb’s work demonstrated this http://www.ourschool.ca/should-students-be-allowed-to-use-cell-phones-in-the-classroom.html
